In August, KCA members volunteered at the ATP tournament in Mason in an effort to raise funds for “Team Kenya” (10 people from Grace Baptist Church, Mason) relocating to Kenya with their families for an extended mission program. While in Kenya they will help establish feeding centers for orphaned and poverty stricken families in Tiwi (Mombasa) while spreading the gospel through Christian teaching.

November 5, held the KCA Annual dinner where the Kenyan Ambassador H. E. Elkanah Odembo was the guest of honor. The dinner helped raise funds to support KCA’s cause for “Providing education scholarships for orphaned and impoverished children back in Kenya”

In August, KCA members volunteered at the ATP tournament in Mason in an effort to raise funds for “Team Kenya” (10 people from Grace Baptist Church, Mason) relocating to Kenya with their families for an extended mission program. While in Kenya they will help establish feeding centers for orphaned and poverty stricken families in Tiwi (Mombasa) while spreading the gospel through Christian teaching.

5 students were awarded KSh. 10,000 Scholarships each for the year 2010. Two of the students are orphans who come from single parent homes under custody of their aging grandmothers. The other three come from poor families whose parents have difficulties providing daily necessities of life leave alone education. Three of the students are in Primary School; the other two are in Secondary School. A total of $2,532 was raised from the 2009 Education Fundraising Dinner aimed to provide scholarships to under privileged children.

In September, KCA members held a fund raising dinner aimed at raising funds to assist unprivileged children. The unprivileged children include orphaned children and those from select poverty stricken communities whose families cannot afford to pay for formal elementary education and high school education. The funds raised would go toward a scholarship fund. The scholarships would be awarded to the children who meet the selection criteria.

Organized a fund drive to help with the famine in drought stricken areas of Kenya. A total of $2,000 dollars was collected and sent to Kenya through “save a life fund” organization based in Nairobi. These funds were used to facilitate some feeding programs.
